What chu know bout Dragon Boats??

A few months ago, Morgan decided to get on to the Navy Dragon Boat team.  As if he didn't have enough on his plate with work, basketball, school, and another baby!!!  What a nut!  Either way, he got onto the team.  They practice twice a week and have races about every other weekend. I've never seen a dragon boat race in person.  I've seen on TV when there are like 30 people in a boat and there is a guy beating on a drum to keep everyone on the same pace.  I guess they don't do that race until the winter time in Okinawa, so they still have races but on a smaller scale.

A couple weekends ago was the first time me and the kids could go watch him race.  I honestly didn't really want to go because of Nono.  I knew it was going to be hot and how was I going to take care of Mills while Morgan was racing?  But I really wanted to see him and go to my first race.  Plus he told me that it was going to be at a nice beach and resort.  We packed up the Van and went early on a Sunday morning.  I was able to meet his teammates for the first time and meet the ladies of the Lady Navy dragon boat team.  There were lots of teams there, mostly Japanese.  The resort was beautiful and it actually wasn't that hot of a day.  Mills had a great time playing in the sand and water.  She especially had a good time cheering on her dad.  Nono on the other hand, was hot and sweaty.  Poor guy!  He behaved the whole time though!

Unfortunately, their team didn't win.  Actually...they sank their boat.  They were doing sooo well at first too.  The ladies team won the whole thing!  All in all, it wasn't a shabby way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my family!

Saturday Night at the Movies

Movie: 21 Jump Street

Rating: ****(out of 5)

Comments:   This movie was sooooo funny!  I love both of these guys.  I never watched the original 21 Jump Street, so I'm not sure how it relates or if it was similar.  Either way, I enjoyed it.  Definitely not a movie for the kiddies.  The story line isn't really anything deep, but it was a good comedy.  Really made me think of how things would be if I had to go back to high school. haha  I mean I had some good times in high school, but no way in hell I would go back.  Another thing, Jonah Hill was super skinny!  Good on him for getting healthy!  Both him and Channing Tatum (yummy) were hilarious to watch!

My First Hair Cut!

Ok, so it's not my first hair cut, but it is my lil girl's first hair cut!  To be honest, I was super duper scared about it.  I was afraid she would cry or not sit still and she would end up with a crooked hair line. I was afraid that she would throw a fit and not even get into the seat.  Man, was I worried for no good reason!  Mills was WONDERFUL when she got her hair cut.  She didn't cry, she sat still and she had a huge smile throughout the whole cut!  I didn't get a fancy cut for her or anything, I did just get her bangs trimmed and her hair cut to her shoulders.  I wanted to cut all the baby hair off and make it all even.  Morgan kept telling her that she was going to get a hair cut like Dora. haha I think that is what she liked about it.  Either way, she was amazing and I completely underestimated her!  It is a lil nerve wracking for any parent whose kid is going through their "first" anything.  More often then not, I'm sure most parents are worrying for no reason.  Now Mills asks to get her hair cut all the time!  Funny lil girl!

I was so focused on her getting her hair cut that I didn't even get a pic of the end result!  DUMB!  I have other pics of her with her stylish new do!
 I dont know why he always makes that face :p

Here's to the Red, White, and Blue!

Wow the 4th of July has came and went!  I swear this year is just flying by.  Soon enough it will be Christmas again! Let’s just focus on the present!  It’s a little different celebrating an American holiday in a foreign country.  Okinawa accommodates a lot of American customs and the people here are really into American things, but it’s no America.  As for the fireworks, the Air Force base that does the big firework show every year did their show on the 3rd?  I have no idea why.  We live right across the street from the base and we were able to watch the fireworks from the comforts of our front balcony.  Mills loved it, she shouted out each color of every firework!  Nono was asleep for the whole thing.

For the actual 4th of July we got together with a group of friends and went to a local beach.  Well not too local, the beach was about an hour away.  It was gorgeous!  It was very very hot though!  Its not the best idea to bring a 2 and a half week old out when its scorching hot.  Surprisingly he was very good.  He stayed asleep the whole time.  I had to keep fanning him, but it wasn’t really a problem.  Morgan took care of Mills and I took care of Nono.  It was difficult to nurse him though.  I’m just not a fan of doing it in public, plus add it the heat , humidity, and sand!  We had a really good time, the food was delish and the water temp was perfect (not that I went in, being that I’m not bathing suit ready).  Either way what more could you ask for while celebrating the 4th?  Good food, good people, good times!

{Lately I've been so lazy to cook.  Luckily Morgan has been picking up my slack!  Love him!}

{Nursing really takes a lot out of me}

{I want to go shopping, but not till I get back to pre-Mills size !!!}
